You will start the tour from Negombo, a characteristic fishing town, it's mere 8 Km from the International airport. Negombo is a gourmet's paradise with sea food in plenty. Old-world fishing crafts like outrigger canoes and catamarans still bring good catch for the village fishermen. Also Negombo's mix cultural blend enrich its beauty with colourful hindu temples, mosques, catholic churches and buddhist temples.
Culinary art of Sri Lanka reflects the traditions of various cultures. The staple food rice is always accompany with array of spicy curries. Don't forget to taste some Sri Lankan dishes on your way.
Following days you will witness the marvel of the rich cultural heritage of ancient civilization with over 2000 years of recorded history. From Huge man-made lakes (Weva) and irrigation systems built by ancient Kings, enormous Dagobas or Stupa (dorm-shaped structures) and remains of ancient buildings in the ruined cities of Anuradhpura & Polonnaruwa, to the awesome stairway to the Rock Cave Temple of Dambulla and the sensual frescoes of heavenly maidens at the rock of Sigiriya.
Visit Minneriya or Kawudulla National Park by a jeep to witness the large herds of wild elephants.
In the hill country lies the former royal capital of Kandy, home to the Dalada Maligawa or Sacred Temple of Tooth, which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. With its distinctive architecture, art and music, Kandy is a bastion of traditional culture.
The approach by rail or road to the spectacular hill country is through narrow passes, deep ravines, gushing streams, tea carpeted hills and terraced paddy fields. Rises from 3000ft to over 8000ft will surround you with cool climate and velvety green freshness all around. The nostalgia of the empire builders is reflected in Nuwara Eliya, the town is decorated with buildings ranging in style from Georgian to Queen Anne.
Leave for Colombo via Kitulgala, enroute view St.Clair and Devon water falls. St.Clair is a double cascade and has an impressive breadth to match its height of 241ft. Devon, no doubt name by a homesick English tea planter for his west country birth place, plunges 281ft. and is an enchanting sight surrounded by unending acres of tea and wooded hills If interested white water rafting can be done at Kitulgala, where you could challenge yourself to some whitewater rafting down the Kelani River. The Kelani river graded 2/3 rafting site stretches for six kilometers with seven exciting rapids. Transfer to the airport.

Arrive at Colombo International Airport and transfer to Negombo beach resort. Afternoon do a city tour in Negombo town, fishing village and 16th Cen. Dutch Fort. Overnight stay at Negombo.
After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th and 12th Centuries. Do a city tour of the ancient city and proceed to Habarana / Sigiriya for overnight stay.
After breakfast leave for Sigiriya. A 5th Cen. World Heritage Site. Climb the Sigiriya rock fortress and on completion check in to the hotel at Sigiriya. Afternoon at Safari in a national park. Overnight stay at Habarana / Sigiriya.
After breakfast leave for Dambulla and visit the Golden Rock Cave Temple of Dambulla – a 1st Cen. B.C. World Heritage Site. On completion proceed to Kandy, enroute visit a Herbal and Spice Gardens at Matale. Check in to the hotel in Kandy. In the evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha and also witness a cultural dance show. Return to the hotel and Overnight stay at Kandy.
After breakfast do a city tour in Kandy, visiting Kandy market, Bazaar, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem museum and Lapidary, Upper Lake road and Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. On completion return to the hotel and afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay at Kandy.
After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya, enroute visit a Tea Plantation and a Factory and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea. Do a city tour in Nuwara Eliya and check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.
