Trip starts from Colombo or Negombo and drive to Nuwara Eliya via Hatton, it is about 180 km and about 4-5 hrs drive, on the way stop for breakfast at Kitulgala and continue to Nuwara Eliya. Enroute you will witness 02 beautiful waterfalls namely Devon ( 97 meters high) and St. Clair ( 80 meters high). After the lunch do a city tour in Nuwara Eliya. Sri Lanka’s premier hill-resort is renowned for its cool, invigorating climate (average temperature around 16°C ) and is picturesquely located on the shores of Lake Gregory 6187ft.(1892m) above the sea level, in a prime tea-growing district. Set up and developed as an English village and health resort by 19th century British colonial settlers, its older buildings such as the post office, Holy Trinity Church, The Grand Hotel, The Hill Club, vintage hotels and houses and the Golf Club have old English architecture, pretty flower-gardens and great nostalgic charm. The Victoria Park is at its best from January to April, when it is blazed with “English Garden” flowers. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Piduruthalagala (8282 feet) is located here, the British period this mountain was called as Mount Pedro. . Nuwara Eliy also has one of the finest 18 holes Golf Course in south Asia.
Return to Negombo or Colombo, enroute visit tea factory and witness the full process of how tea is manufactured and then graded and packed for export to all corners of the world. taste fresh handpicked ceylon tea. Continue to the hotel. ( 4 hrs )
